YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Period Tracker Chrome extension handles information. Your entries are processed and stored locally in your browser; the extension does not send them to the developer.

1. Information you provide

Period Tracker processes health-related information that you enter: the first day of the last period, cycle length, and period length. It also saves the selected Woman or Man mode and the Show fertility information preference. The extension does not ask for your name, email address, account credentials, or payment details. It keeps the latest recorded period start, not a history of past cycles.

2. How information is used

Your entries are used on your device to estimate cycle phases and the next period date, display a calendar, and show personal or partner guidance. If you enable fertility information, the interface also displays estimated fertile days and an ovulation date. These are calendar estimates, not confirmed health findings. Turning this option off hides the information; it does not erase the dates or lengths used by the local calculations.

3. Local storage and developer access

The installed extension saves these settings in Chrome’s local extension storage. It does not transmit your entries or calculated estimates to the developer, a server, or another person. There is no account, backend, cloud synchronization, advertising, analytics, or tracking identifier in the extension. The developer cannot remotely view, retrieve, correct, or delete your locally stored entries through the extension.

4. Partner mode

Partner mode changes the guidance and wording. It does not link accounts, send invitations, or share data between devices. Only enter another person’s dates with their knowledge and permission. Any information entered remains in the browser profile where it was saved.

5. Permissions and browser information

The extension requests only the storage permission to remember your entries and preferences. It does not request access to your browsing history, website contents, location, camera, microphone, or contacts. It does not read the pages you visit or inject scripts into websites.

6. Retention, correction, and deletion

Your saved settings remain until you change them, clear them, or uninstall the extension. Open the tracker’s settings to review and change your entries. Saving a new period start replaces the previous start date. To remove the saved entries and preferences, select Clear data and confirm. Uninstalling the extension also removes its local extension storage. Deletion through the extension does not manage independent device or browser-profile backups that you may have created.

7. Security

Processing stays on your device, but local storage is not a password-protected health vault. The extension does not add its own encryption or access-control layer. Someone with access to your unlocked device or browser profile may be able to view the tracker. Use a protected device and browser profile, especially when recording another person’s information. No method of storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Sharing and external services

The extension does not sell, rent, transfer, or use your recorded information for advertising. Educational links to NHS and ACOG websites open only when clicked. The links do not include your recorded dates or preferences. Those websites may receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, and operate under their own privacy policies. Chrome and the Chrome Web Store also operate under Google’s policies, separately from this extension’s local storage.

9. Welcome page and local previews

The current welcome and privacy pages are local static files without analytics, forms, cookies, remote fonts, or scripts. They do not access the extension’s records. If these pages are published, the hosting provider and any relevant hosting logs must be disclosed before publication.

When the tracker is run as a local website for development, it uses that website’s localStorage instead of Chrome extension storage. This is separate preview data. Use Clear data in that preview or clear the local website’s browser data to remove it.

10. Limited use

Period Tracker uses the information it processes only to provide its stated, user-facing tracking and guidance features. Its use of information adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The extension does not use your information for advertising, creditworthiness, lending decisions, or data brokerage.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy describes version 1.0.0 of Period Tracker. If the extension’s data practices change, this policy should be updated to describe them and show a new revision date. The date above identifies the current revision.

12. Publisher and privacy contact

If you email us, you share your email address and the contents of your message with us and our email provider. We use that information to respond to your request. Support correspondence is separate from the information stored locally by the extension.

Do not include period dates, health details, or screenshots containing personal information in a support request unless they are necessary and you choose to share them. The extension does not automatically attach your saved information to messages.
